Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology is a public sector university in Karachi, Sindh. The university was established in 1979 as Federal Government College with an enrollment capacity of 150 students. It was upgraded to Federal Government College Cadet College (FGCCC) in 1998. In 1999 it received technical university status from Ministry of Education & became Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET). The main campus is located on an area of 101 acres near SITE Town Railway Station in Karachi near junction point between Super Highway and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Brief about the department
The department of Civil Engineering (CE) is a major academic division in Sir Syed University (SSU). The department was formally opened on July 10, 2013. CE program is ranked as one of the top educational programs in Pakistan. CE curriculum makes it possible for students to study from their residential campus through traditional means such as class attendance, lectures and lab work. However, many classes are also taught online via YouTube videos which have been created to introduce new concepts. Additionally, every topic is accompanied by a short quiz that helps students prepare for their exams effectively.
