The Cantonment Board Bahawalpur is a public sector organization in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The board has been operating since its establishment in 1846 and it serves as the local government body in the areas surrounding Bahawalpur city, providing public services to the residents of Cantonment (Cantonment area). From its creation till the year 2001, it was known as Civil Secretariat of Bahawalpur and its name was changed to Cantonment Board Bahawalpur after some amendments were made in the administrative law.

The Cantonment Boards are local self-government bodies which are constituted under Section 152 of Constitution of Pakistan. There are total 20 cantonments in Pakistan, located at Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Kohat, Quetta and Karachi. The administrative head of each cantonment is Commander Cantt who reports to DCO (District Coordination Officer). There is an elected body that oversees affairs related to education, health & sanitation etc. This body also appoints Manager who runs day-to-day affairs of these departments. In addition to these roles, Managers supervise staff work as well as prepare annual budgets for respective departments.

The Cantonment Board, a local government body was established in 1973 to provide civic amenities, community services and economic opportunities to residents of cantonments. It is governed by Cantonments (Establishment) Rules, 1963 which lays down standards on how the board operates. The objective of the board is to contribute to both social and economic development of all segments of society living within its area. A full-fledged District Administration set up with legislative powers operates under it.
