Khyber Girls Medical University (KGMU) is a public sector medical university based in Hayatabad, Peshawar, Pakistan. The university offers PhD programs in basic sciences and clinical specialties. Admissions to KGMU’s MBBS program are based on merit lists prepared by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) while postgraduate studies at KGMU rely on entrance tests administered by each department. These departments are headed by experienced doctors who have been associated with institutions across Europe, America, Asia, Australia and South Africa.
What do they teach at KGMU?
According to KGMU’s website, they offer courses in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Community Medicine, Microbiology and Parasitology. They also have postgraduate programs in cardiology and pediatrics. For undergraduates at KGMU, there are seven years of study total including four pre-clinical years (which focuses on theory) and three clinical years (which focuses on practice). After that comes a two-year residency program and you become eligible to sit for board exams. The curriculum is broad but well-rounded—and all of their courses are taught in English.
Is it only engineering courses?
Khyber Girls Medical College offers courses in both medical and engineering. However, only those interested in pursuing medical careers are encouraged to apply.
