What is Frontier Works Organisation?
The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is an elite special forces unit of Pakistan Army under Special Operations Command. It’s a highly trained rapid response force with primary focus on anti-terrorism operations in urban areas. This is also one of world’s most advanced commando units. Every year, they come up with hiring notification and carry out a selection process to recruit top and best candidates in Pakistan Army. The candidates selected by them work in some of military operation zones such as North Waziristan, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas. Their purpose is to gather accurate intelligence regarding terror organizations operating near our western borders and launch quick operations against them to defeat them.
What can it do?
FWO is an engineering service providing organization that works closely with armed forces to develop and upgrade military systems. The organization also provides products and services to commercial, civilian, industrial and research sectors. It specializes in communications, optics, energy management and intelligence systems. In addition to working on strategic projects such as Combat support System, Integrated Command Control Communications Computers and Intelligence (C4I), Information communication Technology Infrastructure Library, Command Support System (CSS) etc., it also operates a chain of general stores that sell defense items such as books on history and artillery to electronic components used by engineers. FWO also participates in product exports through its subsidiary Pakistan Engineering Services Pvt Ltd (PESPL).

Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is an Indian government organization established in June 2014 under aegis of Ministry of Defence. Its Head Quarter is located at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and it works in association with DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organisation). Currently, around 100 vacancies are being advertised by FWO through its official portal of recruitment which is fwo.gov.in. The applications to these posts will be accepted till 31 July 2022 i.e., 30th July 2022 as per their revised notification dated on 29 May 2017. The minimum qualification required to apply to these posts shall be graduation from recognized board or university while one should be between 18 years to 32 years of age as on 1st August 2019.
