About the Special Protection Unit
The Special Protection Unit (SPU) is a sub-unit of Provincial Armed Constabulary, a state-level law enforcement agency for civil policing duties, working under Chief Secretary of a State. In India all states and union territories have their own separate force (or several forces, such as Joint Forces or Separate Forces).
