The National Highway Authority, or NHA, has recently put out the call for new employees to join its ranks in 2022. Although the job opportunities with the NHA are currently limited to positions in 2022, there’s always room to grow as you build up your years of experience with the company. The history of the NHA
The NHA was established in 2014 under an executive order issued by then President Dr. John Dramani Mahama. The Authority is supervised by a board, who are appointed by Cabinet upon consultation with key stakeholders and chaired by an executive Governor appointed in consultation with ministers and stakeholder groups as specified in Article 20 of NHA Act 831 (2013). The function of the Authority is governed under Section 6 of that law, which states: The functions of NHA are—To regulate, manage and control all motor vehicles in Ghana, including road traffic signs;
What the NHA does
The authority was created by an Act of Parliament in 1992. It is tasked with planning, financing, designing, constructing and maintaining Pakistan’s national highways. The authority employs between 5,000 and 6,000 people across all fields of expertise. Every year, hundreds of candidates apply to work at NHA. The process starts with applying online through their careers website. Once applicants pass first round screening they are invited for an interview at any NHA regional office location across Pakistan (Islamabad HQ). Appointments are made based upon merit and vacancies available per department/branch/post.

What your job will be like at the NHA
The NHA is a government organization and therefore, most employees’ jobs are regulated by strict laws. This means that most of your time will be spent adhering to these policies rather than performing activities at your own discretion. The primary responsibility of NHA employees is to design and construct roads across Scotland, which includes national highways as well as local routes. You will also need to inspect ongoing roadwork in order to ensure quality standards are met and determine whether any improvements should be made before work is completed. Finally, you will need report and fix any problems with existing roads so that safety is ensured for all drivers.
